Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher are planning an unusual Hotel in Macau (China), close to Hong Kong. On the map, this building will look like an ordinary block. Its outside shape fits into every urban fabric. The little twist: the net-like facade of the 40 story building turns inward and perforates the built volume. This will open up completely new interior spaces. Another eye catcher: The entrance hall – with its great height and glass elevators – reminds me of the US-american Hyatt hotel lobbies from the early 1960ies.
The luxury hotel with 780 suites and rooms is due to open in 2017.
